Studio vs. Lifestyle?

Every newborn photographer has something different to offer each client. From the service experience they provide or the style of images they provide. One of the things to take into consideration when choosing the photographer for your babies first portraits outside of the hospital is where do you want your images created. There is lifestyle in your home or in the studio.

Each style is unique and has it's positives and negatives but they all create a unique style.

Lifestyle sessions are done in your home and the benefits are you don't have to leave your home. Drawback you are going to feel like you have to clean before your photographer arrives. You will need to make sure there is an area for your photographer to set up and lighting can be an issue. A lifestyle photographer will work with the available light or bring their own lighting to create the images you want. With lifestyle photography you are posed and then given a prompt to make the image feel more candid. These images are usually created in the bedroom, nursery, or living room. What is in the scene is left in the scene. This is not my style.

Studio Sessions are where we create timeless and elegant portraits. With the elements are controlled from lighting to temperature of the room. Everything needed for the session is kept in reach so no stress of something not being where it needs to be. Down side is you have to leave your home for a few hours with a new baby. The positive is once your in the studio with Mindful Light Photography you get to make yourself at home. We have everything you might need including snacks and beverages, television, music, comfy seating, wifi, coffee/tea, etc. If you might need it we have it available. In the studio you know your images will be consistent and you don't have to worry about cleaning. We do the setting up before you arrive and cleaning when were done.

In the end when it comes to choosing your photographer you want to base it on your style.
