What to expect during your Newborn Portrait Session?
When it comes to new babies they are the beginning of a legacy and I am here to help you capture those moments and memories for your family.
I tend to get long winded when sharing information about the newborn experience but I will try to keep this short. We cover all this information and more in detail during your consultation if you choose to move forwards.
Shale we begin.
The newborn experience begins with a consultation where we sit down and chat. I answer all your questions in full detail and I ask you some questions to get a better idea of what your goals are from your session and for your finished portraits. What your dream portrait would look like, and an idea of your style. We discuss your wants and needs and why you want photos of your pride and joy. We also discuss pricing into more detail and identify your budget. I will not push you to purchase more then your budget allows. I have 3 starter collections to choose from and your welcome to upgrade at your ordering appointment.
If at this point you decide you would like to move forwards with booking then we move into the planning portion of choosing color schemes, wardrobe details whether you provide your own or use the client closet (i provide everything for baby), discuss who will be part of the session and whether you want hair & make up or not.
At the end of your consultation once you are armed with all the information of what to expect, how to prepare, pricing, product options, and an idea of what you can expect we schedule your sweet babies portrait session and you secure a time/day with the payment of your session retainer.
If baby has already arrived I do try to get you into the studio within the week because time is of the essence literally with how quickly babies change in the first couple weeks and months.
If baby is still pending arrival, then we schedule a session date/time for about 10 days after your due date. If baby arrives early we move this date to 5 to 10 days after baby goes home from the hospital (some have to stay longer then others). Which is ok, I work on baby time. You call me the morning you are schedule to take baby home and we lock the date in at that time.
On picture day if hair & make up has been selected you arrive to the studio ready to be pampered. I care for baby while you get to relax for a moment. Dad can nap if he likes. Once baby is fed and you are ready we begin with the family portraits and then you and dad get to relax while I work with baby. The session can take up to 3 hours. I promise I am not taking photos this whole time but doing what it takes to capture the most precious portraits of your sweet baby. Due to the length of time I do provide delicious snacks and refreshments for you to enjoy while I work.
After your session you return about 1 to 2 weeks later for your viewing/ordering appointment. We watch a short slideshow of the best photos (my favorites) and then we work together to narrow the photos down to your favorite portraits. We review pricing and you only purchase what you love.
After your ordering appointment I do a final edit of the photos and send the images off to the professional print lab to be turned into beautiful pieces of art that you will get to enjoy and cherish for years to come.
When you pieces return from the print lab I inspect for quality and contact you to schedule a date/time for delivery and provide complementary installation of wall art is requested.
If this amazing experience sounds like something you would like request your consultation today.
